I don't want to hear no crying from SMU when they get left out. Getting exposed and rolled by a 3 loss average Clemson team.

I attended undergrad at SMU and grad school at Bama — I strongly believe Bama should be in due to strength of schedule and significant wins, but this is the year the committee will get into their feelings and put SMU in the field. However, Bama should have taken care of business on the field. So be it.

Bama can look back and blame this Vandy loss. Win that game and their in.
What about the really bad loss as a 3 touchdown favorite at Oklahoma? They were embarrassed there

It's time that the "big name" teams get shunned if they don't produce. Like ND over the years.

It is more important to look at the SOS and the ranked teams that Alabama beat than the bad ones they lost. It shows they are capable of beating playoff teams.

If SMU (61 SOS) played Georgia, VD, Missouri, LSU, Auburn, S Carolina, and yes, Oklahoma, they would have lost a lot more games than Bama. You can rest in the ACC for bigger games, you cannot in the SEC, it is a grind every weekend.

Vegas knows the truth, would make Bama (15) a huge favorite if they played SMU.

I do not like Bama, did not go there nor go to an SEC school, just stating the facts.

Putting nice little teams like SMU so they appear to be fair is a bad mistake, Clemson won the playoff bid fair and square according to the rules. Two ACC teams is not appropriate this yr.

Neither team would win it so it doesn't matter. And the already said no punishing CC losses so SMU should be there. I don't think we should look at it as though who we "believe" would win or is better should get the final remaining spot as the whole point of a extended playoff is for teams who don't normally get the shot to have the right to prove themselves regardless of what is likely. If you are at the bottom of a 12 teamer hoping to get in if you don't you got 0 complaints.

Respectfully,
  • Who did SMU beat? (no ranked teams)
  • Who did SMU lose to? (BYU, Clemson)
YES, I know that they are limited by the weak schedule they have in this year's ACC.

It isn't who I "believe", it is the facts before us. SMU is a nice team but for some reason was given a bid. YES I realize a lot of the media and fans are against Bama and the SEC getting the nod in this situation.

If Milrose has his head on straight for the playoffs, Bama had a chance to go deep into the playoffs, SMU will almost certainly be one and out MOST every gambler here knows this. There should not be two ACC teams, this year. 3 SEC teams and 2 ACC teams? Ridiculous. Bama, Mississippi, South Carolina, Missouri, and maybe even LSU, Florida, and A&M would be favorites over SMU in Las Vegas.

(Again, not an SEC lover, live in the midwest, no relatives in the SEC or SE areas, and sometimes I have hated Bama especially with Saban)

SMU beat Pitt & Lville while they were ranked ... yes it matters, how would any team drop from the rankings if another team doesn't beat them?
SMU also beat TCU 8 wins, Duke 9 wins, BC 7 wins

It's ironic to even put Missouri on any list of quality teams and quite frankly Florida, LSU and A&M are scarring anybody

You claim not to be an SEC fan but your post certainly sounds like you are.

Maybe the SEC should just have it's own Jr NFL conference where all the SEC hardcore fans can just watch the same 10 teams play over and over

Missouri's big win was Vandy? Auburn? Miss St? not one of those teams have a winning record.

The fact that they're ranked is just another example of SEC bias. Army, Illinois, Duke and Cuse are all better than Missouri
